"I can tease more between Stiles and Malia" -
Jeff Davis not even remotely understanding what the fans want
NO THANKS. IT’S OKAY JEFF, KEEP ALL YOUR STILES AND MALIA THOUGHTS IN THAT MIND OF YOURS. WE’LL TAKE A PASS.
In yet another casting announcement, we have an additional character to add to Teen Wolfseason 4.
The spoiler comes via E! Online, who tells us we’ll be meeting another student who attends Beacon Hills High School.
The new character is named Violet. “She’s a pretty 16-year-old high schooler who is very unassuming…but she’s a lot tougher than you’d think,” E! writes.
It seems as though Teen Wolf will be adding quite a few younger students to season 4, and Violet seems to be no different. Given that she’s 16, we can probably assume she’ll be a sophomore.
wOW jeff youre breaking all the bounderies by adding a new character! Pretty AND unsuspectingly strong? Never done that before!
Maybe you should try FINISHING THE FUCKING STORYLINES AND CHARACTER RELATIONSHIPS THAT YOURE HAVING TROUBLE KEEPING TRACK OF BEFORE ADDING NEW FUCKING CHARACTER???????
Next season on Teen Wolf:
Exclusive interview with Jeff Davis regarding Teen Wolf 3B
"I think Derek (Tyler Hoechlin) is definitely [a character that’s changed the most]. He went from being a real bad guy in the first season to this season, where we’re really trying to craft him into a hero." -
Jeff Davis (x)
Not the first time I’ve heard Derek referred to as ‘a bad guy’ in season 1, but like??? No???? I still don’t get why people (meaning Jeff and the cast) say this repeatedly. Early in season 1 it was all set up to look like Derek might be the bad guy. But it was a bluff, right? a misdirect. And we find out that he’s pretty clearly a victim in the series of events that led to Scott getting bit. Yes, he made some bad choices, but at no point in the series has Derek actually ever been ‘the bad guy’ particularly in S1. I think arguments can be made for ‘goodness you made a mess of everything through your own fault’ Derek in early S2, but like S1 … no. Do you guys even watch the show you are making? Were you so caught up in your own misdirect that you forgot that Derek didn’t actually do anything but try to help Scott in S1?
HE GOT STABBED BY THE BAD GUY IN SEASON ONE
HE JUST LOST HIS SISTER
HE WASN’T THE BAD GUY, I T WAS A RED HERRING
HE WAS LIKE TRYING TO HELP EVERYONE AND GOT THROWN UNDER A BUS
THEN SECOND SEASON HE WAS LIKE
'Teen Wolf' EP on a 'More Adult' Season 3 and Upcoming Character Deaths (Q&A)
Teen Wolf is back, and it’s darker than ever. In the Jan. 6 winter premiere, Scott (Tyler Posey) continues to have struggles finding his place as an Alpha. And as a result of bringing back power in Beacon Hills, Scott, Allison (Crystal Reed) and Stiles (Dylan O’Brien) start to experience side effects, with a new student (Arden Cho) possibly holding the key to their answers. VIDEO: MTV Unveils Jam-Packed ‘Teen Wolf’ Season 3 Trailer Creator/executive producer Jeff Davis talked to The Hollywood Reporter about the darker direction of the MTV drama and upcoming deaths.
I’m kinda confused by two sentences in this article about Jeff writing what the fans want:
The characters may not act like they should or act like themselves. I’m not sure the audience would absolutely want that.
Ummmm…. so when watching Derek interact with Jennifer he wasn’t out of character or not acting like himself? I mean, he doesn’t trust many people, Stiles literally held him up in a pool for hours and Derek said he didn’t trust him, but a pretty girl batters her eyes and helps him when he needs it and he trusts her so much that he sleeps with her, even after she talks him into not calling his pack to let them know he’s alright. Derek literally knew nothing about her and yet he trusted her more so than a person who not only helped once but several times. I don’t get it, I really don’t. Unless Jeff confirms that everything (or most of it) between Jennifer and Derek was non-con/dub-con then Jeff just contradicted himself. You can’t say you won’t do anything that the fans want because the characters wouldn’t be themselves when you have already made a character completely ooc.
Jeff does go on to say:
I think they want to be surprised. I don’t think they necessarily want their versions of the characters; I think they want to be surprised and shocked by what’s on screen.
We may not want our version of the characters and we do want to be surprised but we also want a character to not do a complete 180. Yes, Jeff is the writer, but some of the things he has written contradicts what he says to regards on why he writes something or doesn’t pander the fans.
What does everyone else think?
what fans has jeff davis been talking to???
i’d say most fans want continuity, derek to have a good day and people to stop dying
Take a moment to remember with me the time you got me that awesome video of DOB!Awww. I’m still so happy I was able to get that for you :)Today, I offer you a little series that I like to call "Dylan and Jeff explain ‘Headcanon’ to Linden."
"Derek leaves for two reasons. And you’ll find out those two reasons in the first episode of the winter season (January 6th)." -
i thought it was because season 3a was basically a derek shit storm of angst and he lost his pack and was manipulated by like everyone
Teen Wolf: The show where everything’s made up and the points don’t matter.
Ironically, there’s also a Jeff Davis who guests on Whose Line ;D
Oh, Jeff Davis, you make us so, so angry. One of the few good things about this session is that The Boiler Room’s very own Claire was featured.
Was she satisfied with Jeff’s answer? “Only partially satisfied- we have definitive proof that Paige WAS assaulted and maimed without her consent, but it still feels to me like Jeff doesn’t understand that this is wrong and the perpetrator (Derek or Peter) should be punished narratively.”
perhaps he was being sarcastic? I don’t know, but I do think most of his answers on tumblr are vague
most of his answers are trolling so i don’t really put any thought in them. though if you can glean sarcasm from that one liner, kudos. but seeing jeff davis interact with social media since season one (where he actually had a tumblr and was pretty condescending and privileged over casual racism and then deleted his tumblr after social justice news bloggers also critiqued him on it was just the tip of the iceberg and how he closed off his own twitter shortly after receiving a lot of heat for his casual racist remark over kali and casting yet again) so at this point, after three years and the fact that jeff davis is not new to being in the business as he has had multiple shows under his belt, i just see a man speaking from an idealized privileged spot and not learning from his mistakes or interactions with social media
Keahu asking as one of the fans in Teen Wolf “Where’s Danny in the Panel?” almost keeled me over. Dammit I wanna hug him & his BAMF Cosplay.
In the video 28:00 something
Dylan O’Brien: Dude, what are you wearing?
just set me off in a fit of laughter that made sides hurt but I couldn’t stop myself.
"Make ‘em laugh, make ‘em cry. But most of all make ‘em wait." -
Jeff Davis on satisfying the fans (via beaconchills)
you need to work on your story pacing, davis
teen wolf cast/writers that are problematic
- ian bohen: sexism and ian bohen with rape culture and victim blaming
- colton haynes: repeated blackface racism with colton haynes
- stephen lunsford: men’s rights activist stephen lunsford that says women aren’t objectified if guys are too and how it’s okay if she enjoys it (he deleted a lot of his posts)
- jeff davis: jeff davis is problematic on racism, sexism, and taking criticism, srsly it’s on going, here and oh here’s how he left tumblr and then twitter because he was problematic
- michael fjordbak: ableist language and misogyny
