TUMBLR I HAVE HAD IT UP TO HERE WITH YOUR SHIT leave the guy alone be thankful he’s actually making the show for CRYING OUT LOUD

to be fair, he is employing reductio ad absurdum because the issue people have with her not being east indian and having the character name kali is a large one, which is cultural misappropriation in media and equal representation in industry. so he’s playing the martyr card, for some weird reason. i mean, he didn’t need to tweet this. i mean, the issues surrounding fandom discontent with kali’s character are diverse and not ridiculous as jeff davis is playing it up as for the rest of fandom to stand behind him.

the fact that i should be thankful for anything is ridiculous considering how vocal sterek fans are. it’s an oxymoron. suddenly fans of equal representation and those against cultural misappropriation should just shut up? but it’s fine to be super keen on an otp of two white guys? or should we just be thankful that something on mtv isn’t a reality show? or is everyone courting jeff davis with kid gloves in hopes he’ll make sterek happen and just forgive/ignore the rest?

i mean, i get people love jeff davis. but he’s not god. he makes mistakes. can be ignorant of a lot of issues. but the issue he is making light of is the same reason he closed his tumblr account last season. because he didn’t like the outpour of fans that didn’t accept his explanation on why there weren’t more POCs in the show. so this seems like jeff davis tumblr 2.0 repeating again.

i haven’t seen posts bashing him. i have seen thoughtful and insightful open letters where arguments are made with their issues on kali’s character being not east indian or even indian. where are these bashing posts? unless you mean someone having a less than favorable opinion of jeff davis, ie not agreeing with him. then apparently that equals bashing

and if anons feel the need to message me about this, i don’t need explanations on why i’m reading this wrong. please just wiki it yourself, read up on cultural misappropriation and minority representation in film and see for yourself why some would be upset and have legitimate reasons to be unhappy

I love input from the cast…Dylan O’Brien is such a smart kid, and I will literally IM him or on Facebook at two in the morning and say ‘Hey, I have to come up with a better line.’ He’s hilarious, and I bought him three screenwriting books because I want him to co-write an episode next season!
